Kalle Pohl
Kalle Pohl is one of the defining faces of German comedy. For nine years, he made millions laugh in 7 Tage 7 Köpfe – alongside Rudi Carrell, Bernd Stelter, and Oliver Welke – as well as in WDR cabaret shows together with Harald Schmidt, Gaby Köster, Konrad Beikircher, and other greats. In “Wenn es ernst wird, bleib ich Komiker” (“When Things Get Serious, I Stay a Comedian”), he tells the story of a life full of contrasts: a childhood and youth caught between beatings and poetry, the rocky road to the stage, and experiences that pushed him to his limits – and beyond. With affectionate humor and sharp self-irony, Kalle Pohl takes his readers through setbacks and highlights. At times deeply moving, at times hilarious – but always personal.
