Julian Haertl

Julian Haertl, an author known as part of a popular family of emigrants to Sweden, runs the successful YouTube channel "Die Selbstversorger Familie" (The Self-Sufficient Family) together with his wife Nadine. Born in Hamburg in 1977, he found his calling in self-sufficient living after working in various trades and running his own company.

Based in Sweden since 2017, the family documents their life of self-sufficiency, log cabin building, and solar power, reaching more than 100,000 subscribers. Their authentic glimpses into an alternative way of life show how challenges can be mastered with creativity and perseverance. Julian has also published several books in which he shares his experiences and adventures, inspired by the motto "geht nicht gibt's nicht" (there is no such thing as can't) and everyday life with his family amid the Swedish countryside.
